There are three types of scholarships currently available to students/families in the Portland metro area. All applicants must have previously demonstrated a strong desire to play piano and motivation to learn music to a non-biased person (typically a non-family member such as a school teacher, choir director, person with musical background, etc.).

All scholarship students are asked to participate in the program events. To receive a scholarship application send a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

The Piano Santa Foundation
PO Box 80173, Portland, OR
97280-0173.

Portable Document Format (PDF) (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader software) In order to view and print PDF files you need to install Acrobat Reader on your PC, Macintosh or UNIX PC. The application cannot be completed on-line. Download and print the file and send the completed application to the address on the form.

* Awarded year around from the fleet of thirty pianos

* In-home piano placement (minimum one year, maximum three years)
* Student age qualification: 7 to 13 years of age
Family income guideline equivalent to the reduced lunch program level at local schools (reviewed on an individual basis)

This scholarship is awarded every two years at the same time as the Grand Scholarship.  Applicants must be current PSF students or alumni. The recipient will be the candidate who the Foundation feels will most benefit from the use of this piano.

Both the Stepping Stone and Grand scholarship recipients perform at community concert events. If you know of an event or venue that might be appropriate for a performance, please contact the Foundation with your suggestions.
